Introducing behavioural insights to the Personal Property Securities Register

General Information

Project description

Building on BETA’s work with the Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA) on applying behaviour science to the Personal Property Securities Register, BETA and AFSA are evaluating whether select recommendations make the registration process easier and if they lead to more accurate registrations.

Analysis Plan

Hypothesis

Select recommendations make the registration process easier and lead to more accurate registrations.

How hypothesis will be tested

The intervention will be evaluated through a clustered two-arm randomised controlled trial (RCT). Participants will be allocated as they register with a 50% chance of allocation to the treatment condition.

Dependent variables

Registration accuracy, interaction with the form, ease of use.

Sample Size. How many observations will be collected or what will determine sample size?

Expected sample size: 4,500 registrations
