Cities are fascinating loci of many ‘purpose-driven’ initiatives, often including many actors from multiple levels of governments, the private sector or the community.
To understand the ways in which cities can act as engine rooms of systematic change, we research city-level innovations that have a transformative, systematic impact on the organisation of government or the delivery of public services.
Surfacing and diffusing city level innovations brings national and local learning together so that actors at this level of government can better explore the potential for cross-administrative innovation. We encourage other cities to learn and adapt from one another.
For this project, we scan of urban innovations and collect case studies, profiling and analysing their development process and intersections, to make recommendations on their diffusion in other city contexts.
