IP Australia provide free global patent data visualisations on key COVID-19 technologies

Innovative response

IP Australia have released a free package of global interactive patent data visulations on technologies important in the response to COVID-19.

These six interactive visualisations on ventilators, masks, surgical gowns and goggles, vaccines, repurposed drugs and medical diagnostics allow users to ‘drill down’ into the data and quickly identify patent applicants in specific technologies and different countries across the world.

Choose your technology, click on your country and get a list of applicants, patent information and direct links to full details of each patent.

Specific issues addressed and anticipated impact

These technologies are vital in the public health response to COVID-19, so having easily accessible and free patent data will allow users to better assess and understand how to source and develop these technologies.
