OAED and Google Hellas: online training and traineeship in businesses, aimed at developing the digit

Innovative response

One of the most innovative projects that took place amidst the COVID-19 pandemic is the collaboration between OAED and Google Hellas as members of the National Coalition for Digital Skills and Jobs. Both institutions will take up joint initiatives to effectively address the digital gap in the labour market, the professional reintegration of unemployed persons and the enhancement of digital economy and society. In this framework projects evolving online training and traineeship in businesses aimed at developing the digital skills of unemployed people and their subsequent reintegration into the labour market are developed and implemented. So far 3.400 unemployed persons have benefited by the project and further 1.500 persons are expected to participate. This initiative takes place at a moment when due to the COVID-19 crisis professional reintegration becomes more difficult than before while at the same time digital skills have risen at the top of the required skills in the labour market. Furthermore, having on board the leading company in the digital world enhances the competitive immensely advantage of the skills the beneficiaries will acquire.
