Open public call for Special research program on COVID-19

Innovative response

The Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia opened the public call for scientific and research projects within the Special Research Program on COVID-19. The aim of this Program is to finance projects that will contribute to efficient scientific response to COVID-19 pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus and enable better preparedness and timely reaction of the whole society to this pandemic.

Specific issues addressed and anticipated impact

This program is intended for researchers employed in accredited Scientific and Research Organizations. Program supports applied scientific research, creation of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary team and project applications made by consortiums. Projects in the scope of this Program have predetermined themes within the following scientific fields:
• Biomedical science;
• Biomedical engineering and IT;
• Economics, sociological, psychological research and management of complex systems.
This Program foresees three types of projects according to their duration:
• Shot-term projects with duration up to 12 months;
• Midterm projects with duration from 12 to 18 months;
• Exceptional, long term projects with duration up to 36 months.
The total budget of this Program is 2.000.000 EUR. Program is financed by World Bank loan trough Serbia Accelerating Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project – SAIGE.
