Open Algorithm for assessing Covid-19 symptoms

Innovative response

The French Ministry of Solidarity and Health has published a referral algorithm for people wondering if they have symptoms of COVID19. This algorithm was created by a scientific committee made up of doctors, called CovidTélé, co-piloted by the AP-HP and the Pasteur Institute. It can be read online https://delegation-numerique-en-sante.github.io/covid19-algorithme-orientation/

In order to align all initiatives to the same set of health recommendations, the Ministry of Solidarity and Health advises the reuse of this algorithm.

If organisations plan to collect data and wish to share it with CovidTélé, they can ask to have their work referenced by the Ministry of Solidarity and Health.

Specific issues addressed and anticipated impact

It is important that all bodies assessing people based on their symptoms for coronavirus are using the same algorithms to ensure that their is population level uniformity and better macrodata, as well as for individuals to ensure they are assessed according to the very best standards.

This public algorithm and platform will allow organisations to ensure that this is the case.
