Digital Transformation Co-Creation Platform enables national and local governments to co-create policies and services through knowledge sharing and mutual learning. In Japan, diverse knowledge and challenges exist across about 1,780 local governments but are not adequately shared due to hierarchical communication structures. Digital Agency has developed a co-creation ecosystem where government officers nationwide can engage in open, flat, and two-way communications as individuals.

In partnership with Godot Inc. the Yomitan Village Office in Okinawa (Japan) conducted an AI-driven sludge audit of the medical check-up process. Since the 2022 financial year, the village office and Godot Inc. have been working together to apply behavioural science to medical check-up notifications delivered via SMS and postcards.

The Digital Agency spearheaded the Policy Data Dashboard Project with an agile approach to visualize policy progress and propogate a culture centered on data. The project aims to effectively integrate data into policymaking by first creating an intuitive dashboard interface. To disseminate this data-centered culture, the project members are developing a design system guideline to empower civil servants in other central ministries and local administrations to create dashboards independently.
Digitalization of government often refers an individual project but should include on-going projects. Our city has been building the foundation that allows us to digitalize pubic services simultaneously. Shibuya collects city data and make it open so that innovators could collaborate with us. Secondly we educate our people. Shibuya provides digital devices to children and senior citizens. Thirdly, we let startups to test their product in the city. Finally we will institutionalize the actions.
